Sometimes talk therapy just isn't enough. Research has indicated traumatic events (even the seemingly insignificant ones) can become trapped in the body and leave patterns of dysregulation in the nervous system. Somatic (body based) interventions are increasingly used as the therapeutic community embraces the notion that talking alone keeps us "stuck in our heads".
As we grow in awareness about the complexity of how the body, mind, and spiritual self relate to one another- many have discovered existing western models of allopathic and mental health care are falling short. Psychotherapeutic Reiki embraces the wisdom of the body, the mind, and the spirit. We are so much more than just our thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns- which is what traditional talk therapy focuses on. What about our inner knowing? There is richness and depth when we integrate and address all the aspects of the human condition.
Psychotherapeutic Reiki is experiential. It is a truly integrated approach of involving spirit into the process of healing. How you personally relate to spirit is up to you... there are no rules or dogma- but involving spirit opens new awareness, it confirms and strengthens your intuition, clarifies the meaning and purpose of your life, and helps us slow down and access our own innate widsom.

Psychotherapeutic Reiki offers flexibility.
Sometimes we DO just need to verbally process- to unpack that sticky interaction that happened at work yesterday.
Other times, we are exhausted and can't find what we might want to talk about. These times are perfect for a gentle Reiki intervention. (After which you will probaly have plenty to talk about!)
And...most sessions, there is space for both.
Each psychotherapeutic reiki session is 90 minutes long and customized to exactly where you are.
There is no rush- we have plenty of time.

That is because psychotherapy is a constantly evolving field. The human condition is infinitely complex and nuanced and we are learning more and more each day. What may work for one person will not for another.
